Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) gallery presents two shows, Black and White and
Summerscapes, starting August 1 to August 23 weekends, 1pm to 6pm

Summerscapes
BWAC’s thirteenth annual summer show, opens on Saturday, August 1
with an all-day Meet the Artists reception, an opportunity for visitors to meet
and chat with exhibiting artists.

The Black and White juried show was selected by Whitney Museum curator, Christiane
Paul.

81 pieces are exhibited - works in all media, some monumental in size, from artists all
around the country.

The bold aesthetic of black and white images provides a striking complement to the softer colors of summer exhibited upstairs in the Summerscapes show. There will be an opportunity for visitors to vote for “People’s Choice,” one of several awards presented by BWAC to the exhibiting artists. Prizes will be awarded at the opening ceremony on Saturday, August 1 at 3PM, the $1000 Best in Show Gold prize, along with the $500 Best in Show Silver, a Curator’s Choice of $250, and ten $100 Certificates of Recognition.

Throughout the day, the young, New York-based Wayne Tucker Quartet, will be performing a variety of
jazz standards as well as some of trumpet player Tucker’s original compositions.

Summerscapes and Black and White, starting August 1 to August 23, Saturday and Sunday, 1pm to
6pm
